Goals & Non-goals.
I have a few goals for myself for the next year & of course, I’m going to document them.
I will take time to do things better. More often than not, actually almost always, I find that quality is greater than quantity.
I will call people & write notes more. I will choose a phone call over email/text & a handwritten note over email because sometimes it’s nice to just...
My friend Ryan is visiting for a few days, so last night we went to grab a drink & a bite to eat. We tried Bangers & Lace. The thing is this place is great for a drink… a fine beer selection, but the bite to eat was not that banging. Okay, the fries were good.
There was Bangers & there was lace, so they were spot on with the name.
Mmmm beer.

Bang, bang, kind of a bust.

Merry, Merry...
& the second part of Christmas was spent introducing Ryan to my family’s traditions. A celebration spent with friends who have become as close as family, cousins, godson’s, godparents, aunties & uncles… it doesn’t matter, we’re together year after year.
It’s amazing how one little being can not even exist the year before & suddenly in all her glory...

Snowball fight
The other day we got snow, more than a few inches to be exact. It is perfect ‘packing’ snow. So, Mack & I went out this morning for a snowball fight.
I throw them in the air.
& he catches them in his mouth.

I love a 'wich, specially a grahamwich
grahamwich by graham elliot opened this past week. On Friday before finishing some last minute holiday shopping, Ryan & I headed over to grab a bite to eat.
It was warm & cozy on an especially cold evening. No greek yogurt soft serve for me!
The staff was friendly & offered recommendations. However, limited seating & cash only.

Little Eliza & I have been visiting with each other. & it’s finally time for her to slip on the Christmas shoes that Uncle Ryan & I got for her.

3/4 cup Hershey’s (Special Dark) cocoa
2/3 cup butter, melted & divided
2 cups sugar
1 1/3 cup AP flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup boiling water
2 eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Logan Square Kitchen
Over the weekend Megan & I headed to Logan Square Kitchen for the Christmas Market. A cool way to see local business vendors & to sample made in Chicago treats.
We got to try seriously good foods from Happy Bodega, Blackdog Gelato, Salted Caramel, Flour Cake & Pastry & wash it down with some freshly brewed coffee from Ispento Coffee House.
A fun way to get out & see...
We got fancy.
& we went to a holiday party.
& had fun with friends.
Friends from Chicago & friends that came for a visit from Wisconsin. We like our friends a lot.
& then I did some posing for my own personal holiday card.
